Man fears the unknown. Everyone is, at some level afraid of ghosts, or what will happen the next day at work or how they’ll perform in their next exam…..and what’s to be done on the big wedding day! In the months leading up to a wedding, everyone’s stressed, everyone seems to be cranky all the time and there’s just no end to it!
The reason? People simply don’t know how to go about things in the proper fashion! Here are a few tips on wedding etiquette to help you out!
1. Never print out the addresses in your wedding invitation cards. They must always, ALWAYS be handwritten. Also, never put in the fact that you don’t want children in the wedding. Politely pass on the word, but never put it down in the card.
2. Don’t put in any registry information on your wedding invitation card. Also, don’t put in words to the effect that you want only cash as gifts, nothing else! Also, don’t, even by mistake, open your gifts in front of anyone!
3. Now for the seating plan which is feared so much by everyone! Okay, firstly, even if it amusing, don’t seat people who don’t get along with each other together!
4. The top table seating plan should go something like this from left to right, Chief Bridesmaid, Mother of the Bridegroom, Father of the Bride, Bride, Groom, Mother of the Bride, Groom’s Father and lastly, the best man!
5. The receiving line should comprise of the mother of the bride, father of the bride, Bride, Groom, mother of the groom and finally, the father of the groom. Don’t extend it any further than this!
6. Oh, and while you’re at it, don’t forget to make sure that you’re still sane after the entire wedding experience!
